Type of Church St Mary’s is a medium-sized village church, in a United Benefice with St Peter’s, Benington. The Churches in both villages are working with the URC (Walkern) and Methodists (Benington) to form an Ecumenical partnership.
St Mary’s Church dates back to Saxon times, with the origins of the building dating from the mid 10th Century. It is situated at the northern end of the village in Church End overlooking the ford.
